A Canopy Walkway Is?

Canopy walkways allow access to the upper parts of the forest--the canopy--which is where most of the action is. From the walkway, birds, butterflies, flowers, monkeys, and various other species of animals, plants, and insects that live in the roof of the forest, and which are otherwise invisible, can be seen at eye level, or even from above.

In some forests, trees can be used to support suspension bridges using the patent pending Treehugger technology. In forests or wetlands where trees cannot provide adequate support, easily portable, aluminum towers are used.

Greenheart's approach is to provide access to the canopy with minimal impact on the trees or habitat. Our prefabricated walkways are designed to allow individuals to transport the pieces into remote sites; so no roads need to be built, nor are helicopters required. The small inevitable impact on the immediate site of a facility is considered acceptable if it is offset by a sufficient conservation effect. As a matter of principle, Greenheart is not interested in projects unless there will be sufficient conservation effect. >>more>>
